Students Create Floral Arrangements

Students in Floral and Landscape Design have been learning a foundation for the best floral arrangements. Starting from the beginning and selecting the best container and wiring technique will set up the arrangement for success. Students then learn the different types of flowers; mass, line, form, filler and foliage. From there, students carefully cut and prepare flowers for their arrangement. Starting at the base they add greenery and then start placing the prepared flowers into the base. To complete the arrangement, they finish with filler. Once arrangements are completed students will reflect on their process and discuss what they like about the arrangement, what they wish they did differently and what they would do if they made another arrangement. To conclude the lesson, students will be conducting a cost analysis and creating a bill of materials.
