Meet the Spanish Department!

Welcome to the Spanish Department Spotlight at Arcadia High School! We’re excited to introduce our talented educators and highlight the innovative projects happening this year. Amber Teale, with 8 years in the district and a Master’s in Spanish Instruction, teaches Foundations of Academic Spanish, Heritage Spanish, and AP Spanish, focusing on literacy skills for future opportunities. Brooke Barrios, with 3 years at Arcadia and a B.A. in Spanish, teaches MS Spanish 1 and Spanish 2, emphasizing real-world applications of the language.

Current projects include reading a book on a capybara in Ecuador, creating Venn diagrams, and studying Chicano/a literature. AP Spanish students are preparing for their test, and the CHICLE club is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with events like a Chicharrones sale. We’re also excited for upcoming events, including a visit from Michelle Pinzl of Viterbo University to discuss their Community Interpreting Certificate Program as well as our first WI Seal of Biliteracy meeting for current students to check their progress and interested students can learn how to apply.

Thank you for supporting the Spanish department.   We’re looking forward to another exciting year of learning and achievement.  Stay tuned for more updates!
