Fall Athletics Recap

The Arcadia Raiders had a number of accomplishments during the fall season. First, all teams were able to complete full seasons, providing athletes and spectators alike with the benefits provided by high school athletics, including physical activity, enhanced school engagement, and the development of life skills, just to name a few.  In addition, our football team finished second in the Coulee Conference, losing only to the state-qualifying Aquinas Blugolds, and earned a home playoff berth. The boys and girls cross country teams had competitive seasons, ultimately sending Tegan Michalak to the state cross country meet in Wisconsin Rapids. The girls golf team were Division 2 Regional and Sectional champions and represented Arcadia well at the state golf tournament at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison. In addition to their accomplishments on the course, several members of the team also earned Academic All-State Honors. The volleyball team competed at a high level all season long, ultimately losing in the playoffs to West Salem, the conference champions. Finally, the boys soccer team brought home Division 4 Regional and Sectional plaques and returned to the state tournament for the second year in a row. The time and effort put in by the coaches and athletes does not go unnoticed!

Be Loud!  Be Proud!  Be About Us!

It’s hard to believe we are already into our winter sports season!  We are looking forward to filling the stands with spectators for all of our basketball, dance, gymnastics, and wrestling events.  As we cheer on and support our teams, please remember to do so in a positive manner.  Here are a few things to keep in mind as we enjoy the spirit of competition (adopted from the WIAA):

  1. Be Respectful to All
  2. Know the Rules, Abide by and Respect the Official's Decisions
  3. Win with Character and Lose with Dignity
  4. Display Appreciation for Good Performance Regardless of the Team
  5. Exercise Self-Control and Reflect Positively upon Yourself, Team and School
  6. Permit Only Positive Sportsmanlike Behavior to Reflect on Your School or Its Activities

The athletes are here to have fun and compete.  The coaches are here to teach and coach.  The refs are here to officiate.  The fans are here to support...Be Loud!  Be Proud!  Be About Us!  You can find all Arcadia Raiders athletic events on our Coulee Conference calendar.
